Clinical Academics queries

A co-appraiser is assigned to appraisees who are clinical academics with an honorary role with the NHS. Appraisees in this category will normally be asked to complete an additional Academic Medicine form as part of their appraisal and the co-appraiser is usually someone from the university.

If the Academic Medicine form is not appearing on your Form 3, then you have NOT been marked as a Clinical Academic on SOAR.

Contact your local admin team (university contacts at bottom of page) for further assistance in the first instance.

There are two possibilities:

1. Co-appraiser was not assigned to the appraisee
2. Co-appraiser was not added to interview

To rectify this in either case - DO NOT sign off the Form 4.  If Form 4 is signed off then the interview is archived and we will NOT be able to add the co-appraiser to the interview.

Check interview details page first to ensure co-appraiser is part of the interview.  If not, contact SOAR Helpdesk with details (GMC numbers and email addresses) of who you are, who your appraiser and co-appraiser are, and we will do our best to resolve the problem.
