For the purposes of your reflective learning, the mini appraisal sessions on day 2 (the one where you participate as an appraiser) will be recorded.
Following feedback from previous participants, it was suggested that it would be really useful for learners to be able to review their own performance (as appraiser) to further reflect on the role.
Additionally, though not its intention (as it is not common practice to record appraisal meetings), participants can use the recordings to aid their drafting of their mini Form 4.
As all our appraiser training courses are delivered online via MS Teams, the recordings will be initiated automatically and stored on SharePoint as default.
Participants will be divided into two groups and only those in the grouped sessions can access the recordings (e.g. fellow participants in group A will not be able to access your recordings in group B, and vice versa).
Each group will be sent their recording links, which are view-only by default so cannot be downloaded.
The course tutors will also have access as they were included in the video recordings (but we will not be emailing them with the recording links, only course participants).
For quality assurance purposes, we may request random access to sample the videos but we would only do so with participants' written email consent.
All videos, along with the Teams setup, will be deleted after 8 weeks.
However, if any participants discussed anything sensitive (in their role as appraisee in the session) and are not comfortable with the recordings, we can delete them sooner on request.
If you are unsure about any of this please contact the Medical Appraisal team.
