For the next phase of the SOAR development we are aiming to move all Appraisee tools onto this new platform. Until then however, there are two other sections where you will be redirected to the old setup.
The "Recognition of Trainer" section, and the "Academic Medicine" section.
Clicking on "Recognition of Trainer" from the Current Appraisal page will take you to the ROT form on the old platform.
For GPs and those working in primary care, you do not have to complete this if you are already an approved GP Trainer. Similarly if you have no trainer role you are not required to complete this. If you are not an approved GP Trainer and you do have a named-trainer role, the form will be enabled upon your confirmation.
For secondary care colleagues, you will need to complete this form if you have a named trainer role.
If you are planning to or are working towards a named trainer role, you are welcomed to complete this form as far as you are able.
If you have been incorrectly identified as a trainer, or not identified correctly as a trainer, please liaise with your Director of Medical Education’s (DME) office right away to update Turas, where all trainer information on SOAR is imported from. Once updated, SOAR will be updated the next day via overnight processes.
If this form does not apply to you - please leave it blank - do not type in the boxes with comments like "I'm no longer a trainer", as this will trigger the ROT section on the subsequent Form 4.
If you had previously completed the form (e.g. you have given up the trainer roles), please untick all checkboxes, delete text from the comments box and delete any previously uploaded documents on the ROT form. This should then stop the ROT section from appearing on the Form 4.
Also, if not already done so, liaise with your DME to get the data corrected on Turas.
To navigate back to the new SOAR platform, click on any of the menu items and you will be redirected accordingly.
