SOAR Deployment Highlights: 2018 - May 8th

SOAR Deployment Highlights: 2018 - May 8th

A number of changes were made in this deployment, the most significant changes were made to the CPD Log function:

## CPD Log changes:

Following extensive user feedback, the following changes were made:

  • CPD Credits Total - there is now a Credits Total count on the CPD Log and the submitted forms (including PDF Export)
  • A new column has been added for Appraisees to see if individual CPD entries had documents attached (and how many)
  • An option to carry CPD entries through to next appraisal by marking individual items as "Ongoing" (or "Completed")
  • From the CPD Log, Appraisees can now access details of past CPD entries via linkage to the submitted forms

This function has been thoroughly tested but if you come across issues or errors with this, please let us know and we will investigate right away.

Other significant changes made following user feedback:

## Autosave

We have extended the autosave function throughout all pages on SOAR for Appraisees - except for draft Form 3 > Domain 1 > PDP Year Ahead page (you will see a big red message across the top of the page notifying users of this). Due to the way PDP items are added on this page it was not possible to implement the autosave function here. However, we will be working on resolving this in due course.

The autosave is set so that it is triggered every 10 seconds. You will still be notified if you tried to leave a page and the content had not been saved.

## Spellchecker default settings

We have enabled the Spellchecker feature within the comment boxes by default, and set the dictionary to English_UK (rather than English_US).

## "TBC" labels on Revalidation grid

The Revalidation grid table - if an appraisal is ongoing, the scores on the page will simply show as "TBC" - we have now included the draft score in brackets so that it is clearer what the relevant scoring might be. (e.g. "TBC (1)" or "TBC (no issues)" etc)

## Display of Co-Appraiser details on dashboard (if assigned)

## Resolved issue with Login Request form's recaptcha

-----

There were also a number of significant changes made for Health Board Admin teams:

## SOAR News Alert - "funny characters"

Previously the News Alert function did not render HTML properly so messages sent looked like it had "funny characters" in them. This has now been resolved.

## Form 6A - Change Appraiser question

Previously if an Appraisee answered that they want a change of Appraiser, the local admin is notified. We have disabled the notification emails and instead, a message will show asking the Appraisees to contact you directly with details of their change request.

## Automated email reminder for chasing up incomplete appraisals

This is a new function where Admins can sign up to receive either weekly or monthly emails to notify them of any incomplete appraisals in their health board.

We have tested this as much as we can but if you come across any issues with this, please let us know and we will investigate accordingly.

## Display of Co-Appraiser details on Appraisees page

On the Appraisees page, we have added a new column to display who the assigned co-Appraiser is (if assigned) and how many appraisals they have been involved with. Both are also sortable by clicking the column heading.

## "Appraisees for Reassignment" count

On the Health Board Admin dashboard, there is a widget which indicates the number of appraisees who are due for re-assigning by counting the number of appraisals the appraisee has had with their current Appraiser. We have tweaked this so that it's only listing those who have had 3 or more appraisals with the same Appraiser out of the last 5 appraisals.

## Deanery admin teams can now search Trainees by their email address on SOAR

## For DMEs and EOs with access to ROT Trainer Search page, an additional column has been added for the appraising Health Board.

GDPR - 25 May 2018

With the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) policy about to come into force, SOAR will be updating our data and usage policy and we will make an announcement very shortly. Whilst this is a very significant change for many organisations globally, for SOAR, the impact is minimal as we don't share data with 3rd party organisations.

We will be changing the way we communicate with the users via SOAR, as well as updating the data policy; but we will be back in touch shortly to confirm.
