SOAR OFFLINE notification [on 1st April] and Organisational change update

Dear colleagues,

As previously communicated, we can now confirm that the Scottish Parliament has passed legislation to establish Public Services Delivery Scotland - a new body to drive transformation across the health and care system and the wider public sector.

Public Services Delivery Scotland (PSD Scotland), replacing NHS Education for Scotland (NES) and NHS National Services Scotland (NSS), will be established on 1 April 2026, bringing the strengths of the two boards together.

The new organisation will lead on workforce planning and development, service infrastructure and innovation, with a particular focus on digital transformation. It will accelerate national programmes, alongside continued delivery of all existing NES and NSS services, delivering safer, more consistent and efficient care for people.

Due to various systems processes linked to recognition of trainer, medical appraisal and revalidation - the developers will be taking SOAR OFFLINE for a few hours on the morning of Wednesday 1st April 2026 from 8am to 12pm.

This is to allow the team to implement significant coding changes to the system to ensure all existing processes will continue to function moving forward.  Please ensure you are logged out of SOAR during this time to avoid losing any work.

All other web resources will be updated in due course in terms of logos and NES/NSS references.

Thank you for your patience as we work through these changes.

Any issues please contact the helpdesk (SOAR@nes.scot.nhs.uk)
