Changes to Recognition of Trainer (RoT) review processes

Changes to Recognition of Trainer (RoT) review processes

Recent RoT reviews for ongoing recognition have highlighted the impact that increasing clinical pressures are having on postgraduate trainers’ capacity to provide evidence for continued recognition of their trainer status.

In collaboration with DME representatives, NES RoT team submitted proposed changes to the agreed RoT review process, to the Medical Directorate Executive Team (MDET) and the Scottish Education Organisers (EOs) in this “Once for Scotland” approach, to reduce the additional pressure on trainers at this time.

The changes, which have been accepted and will be introduced with immediate effect, are outlined in https://mcusercontent.com/5391ceba312d6f81e0430a42b/files/87ea4123-0ef6-4550-d0c4-63d474d6f9cb/Changes_to_RoT_Process_Dec_2021.01.pdf
