Domain 3: Communication, Partnership & Teamwork

Domain 3: Communication, Partnership & Teamwork

  • Communicate effectively
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues
  • Teaching, training, supporting and assessing
  • Continuity and coordination of care
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with patients

The above is outlined in detail in the GMC's Good Medical Practice.

Revalidation requirements

Typically for Domain 3, doctors are expected to submit a Patient Survey Questionnaire (PSQ) and a Colleague Multi-source Feedback (MSF) once in a 5-year revalidation cycle; although it doesn't have to be in the same appraisal year.

The GMC have issued some guidance regarding Colleague and Patient Feedback which can be found on their website.

Already completed MSF and PSQ?

For appraisals where you do not intend to do either of these, you are encouraged to complete a reflective template to reflect more generally on "Working with Colleagues" and "Patient and Care Involvement".

You can also reflect on your consultation skills and see if there is room for review or further development.
